Across Hollywood, allegations have come out against countless big names in business, starting with Harvey Weinstein and continuing across the ranks with people such as Louis C.K. Brett Ratner (The Revenant) is among those numbers after accusations of sexual misconduct from actresses such as Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse). Though Ratner is fixture in the DCEU franchise, it looks like he may soon have to depart it.
Actress Gal Gadot, famous for her portrayal of the Justice League member and fearless Amazon, Wonder Woman, has taken stand against Ratner, who was heavily involved in the funding of her film. Much like her character, Gadot seems to be acting in the pursuit of justice. Because her contract is still in negotiations, she is technically not obligated to perform in the Wonder Woman sequel, a fact which she is using as leverage to ensure Ratner’s removal, declaring that she will reprise her role only if he is booted from the project.
As of now, there is no confirmation that Ratner is officially gone from DC. Additionally, it ought to be taken with a grain of salt just in case, as Warner Brothers denied the potential change.
It seems unlikely, if not impossible, that fan-favorite Gadot will have to leave the franchise, as she is perhaps the most marketable new DC star. She will at least reprise her role in the upcoming Justice League film, which will be released in several days on November 17th.
