2022 has already been a big year for Gal Gadot, having just starred in the murder mystery Death on the Nile, and now the actress has just given an update as to the status of the third Wonder Woman film.
Warner Brothers seems to still have good faith in the franchise, despite Wonder Woman 1984 suffering at the box office, not even passing over its $200M budget. Following the fairly successful Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984, Gadot confirms that a third script is in the works.
Most of the information regarding the film is being kept under wraps, but what we do know is that Gadot, the star of the two previous films, will be reprising her role and director Patty Jenkins will also continue in her role on the production team.
Another pleasant detail is that Lynda Carter, the original Wonder Woman who made her debut as the hero in the 1970s TV show, will also be returning for the third movie.
At this point, there is no information as to whether Chris Pine will be returning. But one can never know with superhero movies as he died in the first film and still found a way to return for the sequel.
With the script still being in the works, there is no estimate for production time yet, but fans can most likely expect the project to premiere either in 2023 or 2024.
