Gal Gadot Secures Her Next Role, Boards ‘Criminal’

A few months removed from the internet-shattering news that she had been cast as Wonder Woman in the next wave of Warner Bros./DC Comics’ superhero movies, Israeli actress Gal Gadot has signed on for her next role in the thriller Criminal, according to an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter. She joins a cast that includes Kevin Costner, Ryan Reynolds, Gary Oldman, and Tommy Lee Jones.

Gadot will play the wife of Reynolds, in the story about a dead CIA agent whose memories are implanted into a dangerous criminal (Costner), in the hopes of thwarting an evil plot.  Clearly Gadot’s career is taking off, with roles likely in multiple movies as part of the DC Comics universe of films Warner Bros. announced recently, nine of which will be released between 2016 and 2020.  In addition these movies, and this new role in Criminal, Gadot also recently wrapped production on Triple Nine, the new John Hillcoat (Lawless) movie that also stars Aaron Paul and Kate Winslet.  She also appeared in the last three Fast & Furious movies.

Criminal will be directed by Ariel Vromen, who last directed the 2012 crime biopic The Iceman with Michael Shannon. No release date has been set for Criminal, but look for it some time in 2015.
