After his musical sequence in Frozen 2 generated a ton of popularity, fans will be happy to know that more great things are coming to Kristoff actor Jonathon Groff. Groff will soon be part of another major franchise, joining Keanu Reeves and Carre-Anne Moss in the upcoming forth installment of The Matrix. This marks one of many new additions to the Matrix franchise, with the sequel already building up quite the all star cast.
As previously mentioned, Reeves and Moss will be reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity respectively. Also returning is Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe. The film will also star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman, Watchmen), who’s speculated to play a young Morpheous but those reports have not been confirmed. Other new additions to the franchise include Neil Patrick Harris and Jessice Henwick, who are set to act alongside Groff and others.
While Frozen is likely the most recognizable franchise Jonathon Groff has been part of, he’s also seen success in a number of film and television projects. Prior to Frozen, Groff made appearances on the hit TV series Glee and movies like American Sniper and The Normal Heart, to name a few. His most recent role is the lead on Netflix’s hit series Mindhunter, a more dramatic role than the aforementioned parts but not too far off from an action film like The Matrix. In fact, it would certainly be a nice change of pace for Groff to be part of another big franchise where he actually appears on screen, as opposed to simply providing a voice.
