After releasing a brand-new animated feature earlier this year to widespread critical acclaim and financial success, DreamWorks is shifting focus to another project on its release slate. The studio has unveiled a new look at The Bad Guys 2, the follow-up to its 2022 hit film.
The first Bad Guys became a box office success upon its release, earning $23 million during its opening weekend. It went on to gross $250 million worldwide, including $97 million domestically.
The new trailer prominently features the returning cast of Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos and Awkwafina.
The titular gang has since turned over a new leaf, trading their lives of crime for full-time law-abiding citizenship. However, their peaceful lives are disrupted when a group of criminals, inspired by their past heists, recruits them for a new mission—whether they want to participate or not.
Pierre Perifel returns to direct the sequel, with JP Sans serving as co-director. Daniel Pemberton also reprises his role as composer, scoring the film once again.
Earlier this year, DreamWorks released The Wild Robot, which earned $317 million worldwide during its theatrical run. The film received an 8.3 rating on IMDb and a Certified Fresh score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Bad Guys 2 is set to hit theaters in summer 2025. Check out the trailer below.
