Today 20th Century Fox debuted the trailer for SXSW comedy Stuber, starring unlikely duo Kumail Nanjiani and Dave Bautista. Nanjiani stars as Stu, a reserved Uber driver just trying to up his driver rating when he happens to pick up a Los Angeles police officer, Bautista, on a mission in need of a ride. Stu gets more than he bargained for and ends up risking life and limb as he becomes part of the hunt for a killer that takes them all across Los Angeles.
The two get into all sorts of antics which can be glimpsed in the trailer below. With Fast and Furious style stunts and witty banter, the film looks to be an action hit for the summer ahead.
An early cut of the film debuted at SXSW and already met positive responses. Audiences so far have enjoyed the combination of ridiculous humor with the violence and spectacle of a high speed action flick. The finished film will hit theaters on July 12 and you can see the trailer and new poster below for a glimpse of the wild ride.
