First Trailer For ‘Die, My Love’ Released

The first trailer for Die, My Love, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, has been officially released ahead of its November 7 release. The thriller film follows a young couple, Grace, played by Lawrence, and Jackson, played by Pattinson, who move out of their rural hometown to New York with their newborn child. But as Grace wrestles with postpartum depression and escalating isolation, her mental state deteriorates, which puts her marriage and sanity at risk.

MUBI’s Die, My Love is directed by Lynne Ramsay and produced by the legendary Martin Scorsese. The story is based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Ariana Harwicz.

The film premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and received a six-minute standing ovation, with Lawrence getting praise for her portrayal of mental health struggles.

This is the first collaboration between two hallmark YA franchise stars, as Lawrence portrayed the symbol of hope, Katniss Everdeen, in the Hunger Games franchise, and Pattinson portrayed teenage heartthrob Edward Cullen in the Twilight series. Both have received critical acclaim for their other career roles. Lawrence has starred in other dramas, such as Mother!, and even earned an Oscar for her role in Silver Linings Playbook. Pattinson has been highly praised for his performances in films such as Good Time and The Batman.

Director Ramsay is best known for her work on films such as 2011’s We Need to Talk About Kevin and 2017’s You Were Never Really HereScreenRant says Ramsay, who also penned the screenplay, “brings Harwicz’s surreal exploration of postpartum despair and identity to the screen.” The original French novel delves into great depth on the psychological toll of motherhood and its effects on those closest to Grace.

It is reported that MUBI acquired the rights to Die, My Love for $24 million. The film currently has a 78% Rotten Tomatoes rating, with critics praising Ramsay’s striking direction and Lawrence’s fearless, feral performance. Lawrence shared that she drew from her own experiences of motherhood and the “extreme anxiety and isolation” that can appear.
