Yesterday, Wonder Woman helmer Patty Jenkins tweeted the first official sneak peek of Kristen Wiig in the role of Barbara Minvera, aka Cheetah, the villain for the film’s sequel, Wonder Woman 1984.
In the photo, Wiig, as Minerva, looks to be touring some sort of wildlife exhibit. This makes sense for the character she will eventually play, being one with the world of wild animals as the villain Cheetah.
Aside from Wiig’s new role in the film, the new setting of the 1980s, and that Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor is alive, not much else is known about the sequel’s plot or circumstances. But, with all of the new promotional material, including the first look photos of Pine and Gal Gadot on set, it is likely that fans will be treated to more tidbits soon. This is most likely to happen at next month’s San Diego Comic-Con along with trailers for Aquaman and Shazam!
That said, fans still have some time to wait before the film’s release on Nov. 1, 2019.
Wonder Woman 1984 also stars Pedro Pascal. Check out the first look image below.
