Keanu Reeves returns as John Wick this weekend in the new action flick Ballerina. But before that, he’s got an appointment as someone’s guardian angel in the trailer for Good Fortune. 

Reeves plays Gabriel in Aziz Ansari’s Good Fortune, an angel tasked with the responsibility of watching over those on earth. On top of his usual duties, Gabriel gets wrapped up in the affairs of two people who are polar opposites of each other and begins to attempt to change their lives. 

Reeves headlines the film as Gabriel, alongside Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, and Sandra Oh, also with a supporting role from Ansari himself. 

Ansari is serving as director, writer, and producer on the film. This is his first feature directorial credit, but not his first time helming a project. His other directed films include two of his comedy specials, Aziz Ansari: Live At Madison Square Garden and Aziz Ansari: Nightclub Comedian. 

The trailer itself wastes no time establishing Reeves is a guardian angel, but not the type you’d think. Rolling Stone notes that, in his own words, he’s “normally only in charge of saving people from texting and driving,” but he decides to take a more involved role in the livelihood of Ansari’s character after seeing him in turmoil. It even results in him gaining his own bit of popularity when he begins to help out, especially at parties.
