According to Deadline, Rebel Wilson and Celyn Jones star in The Almond and the Seahorse as Wilson’s breakout non-comedic role. New images were released of the pair as filming finished up last year in Liverpool and North Wales. The film captures the journey of an archaeologist and architect navigating loss and redefining their future following a traumatic brain injury that leaves them isolated from those they hold close.
Oscar-nominated cinematographer Tom Stern directs the new film with screenwriters Celyn Jones and Kaite O’Reilly adapting this work from its original 2008 play by O’Reilly. Jones starred in O’Reilly’s original play and will reprise his role in the film adaptation. Alongside Wilson and Jones, Trine Dyrholm, Meera Syal, and Charlotte Gainsbourg offer their talents for this upcoming release. No information is available regarding a theatrical release date for the British independent drama.
