After over a year of countless setbacks and other issues (including casting problems and release date pushes) for the Natalie Portman-led Jane Got a Gun, Relativity Media has finally provided audiences with a positive update in the form of first-look stills from the movie.

The story follows Portman as she tries to make a new life with her husband (Noah Emmerich from AMC’s The Americans) when he is captured by a murderous gang, forcing her to enlist the help of her ex-lover to save him.

Apprehension surrounding the western’s completion and eventual release can be temporarily set aside as these images provide fans with a look at stars Portman, Joel Edgerton (director Gavin O’Connor’s Warrior actor) – as Portman’s ex-fiance – and Ewan McGregor (Portman’s former Star Wars peer), surrounded by his spooky band of outlaws.
