For fans of Gillian Flynn’s best selling thriller Gone Girl, the big screen adaptation of the same name directed by Oscar nominated director David Fincher (2008’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and 2010’s The Social Network) is one of 2014 highly anticipated films.
20th Century Fox has just released the first official still from Gone Girl starring Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne, a man who loses his high profile job in New York and has to move back to his small Missouri hometown with his wife Amy, played by Bond Girl Rosamund Pike (Die Another Day). Their marriage goes through a rough patch because of the upheaval and on their fifth wedding anniversary Amy goes missing. As plenty of evidence arises against him, Nick becomes the prime suspect.
Gillian Flynn also wrote the screenplay for Gone Girl. Kim Dickens (Treme, At Any Price), Missi Pyle (The Artist), Patrick Fugit (We Bought A Zoo), Tyler Perry (Madea’s Christmas, Madea’s Witness Protection) and Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) also star.
Producers are Reese Witherspoon, Bruna Papadrea and Leslie Dixon with 20th Century Fox and New Regency Pictures.
Gone Girl will debut in theaters October 3, 2014.
