Stephen King adaptations have been on a hot-streak lately, with the release of Life Of Chuck and the buildup to The Long Walk. Now, a new trailer is confirmed to release tomorrow for the newest take on one of his stories, The Running Man.
Based on one of his books penned under the Richard Bachman name, The Running Man sets itself in the not-so far off future. With his daughter sick and no money to pay for a treatment, Ben Richards volunteers for a dangerous challenge in hopes of winning the prize money. The only catch, however, is he has to survive a month with skilled assassins chasing after him if he has any hope of using the money.
The lead role of Ben Richards is occupied by Glen Powell, while the previous film adaptation from 1987 saw 80’s action icon Arnold Schwarzenegger play the character. Powell is joined by an all-star cast composed of Josh Brolin, Jayme Lawson, Lee Pace, Colman Domingo, and many others.
Ahead of tomorrow’s debut of the trailer, a very short snippet of the movie was shown off on X. As ComicBookMovie.com notes, the little bit of footage shown focuses mostly on Powell for the majority of its few-second duration, announcing the trailer himself.
The Running Man hits theaters November 7th.
