On June 7, the trailer for the future action flick Expendables 4 was released, revealing both the old cast and new faces to the franchise including Megan Fox and 50 Cent. Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture all return to the series and team up with this new blood to help halt World War III.
The upcoming action thriller involves both old and new members of the Expendables team assigned to fight terrorists that have gotten their hands on a new nuclear weapon that could spell disaster for the whole world. As the different generations cooperate and clash, the newer members “give ‘new blood’ a whole new meaning.” Both the film’s poster and the trailer have the tagline “They’ll die when they’re dead,” which most fans consider ominous due to this being the final film of the Expendables franchise.
After nearly a decade since the prior film’s release in 2014, many people are excited to return to the franchise and breathe new life into it. In a cover story from The Hollywood Reporter, Stallone briefly mentions how the film seems to be turning out well in post-production. According to the film star, even co-star Jason Statham seemed excited about it and was “80 percent sure of it.”
Expendables 4 is set to come blasting through theaters on September 22 for one last hoorah for the nigh-invincible mercenaries.
