Hello, Love, Again, the sequel to the 2019 hit Hello, Love, Goodbye, sets a new benchmark for Filipino cinema in North America with an opening weekend gross of $2.4 million. The romantic drama, produced by ABS-CBN Films and GMA Pictures, has already outpaced its predecessor, which earned $1.99 million during its entire North American run.
Distributed by Abramorama in partnership with AJMC, the film debuted in 248 locations across the U.S. and Canada, marking the widest release for a Filipino film in the region. With a per-screen average of $9,722, the movie has gained traction not only among Filipino-American audiences but also with broader Asian-American, Hispanic and general audiences.
Starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, Hello, Love, Again continues the story of Joy (Bernardo) and Ethan (Richards) as they reconnect in Canada five years after their parting in Hong Kong. Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana and written by Carmi Raymundo and Crystal S. San Miguel, the film explores themes of love, personal growth and cultural pride.
Evan Saxon, president of international distribution at Abramorama, praised the film’s performance, saying, “Hello, Love, Again has made history as the highest-grossing film from the Philippines in North America. The marketing campaign, led by AJMC, played a key role in the film’s success, leveraging social media and partnerships with ABS-CBN platforms TFC and Cinema One. The strategy was designed to appeal to core Filipino-American viewers while reaching new audiences.
