Fans of the tv show Severance have now been left heartbroken after the news that Fifth Season’s COO Tim Robinson has left the Severance producer after four years.
Robinson who was part of the Shine Group and Avalon boss joined in the 2018 Fifth Season. Robinson, who is originally from England, has been working out of its LA base, but he recently exited it.
Robinson is well-respected and very popular at the Fifth Season, formerly known as Endeavor Content. Robinson played a significant role in the company when he sold to South Korean conglomerate CJ ENM last year and rebranded the company into a new identity. CJ ENM bought 80% of Fifth Season for $785 million, with Endeavor keeping the remaining 20% of the company.
Robinson joined Fifth Season after serving as COO of talent management and production company Avalon on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver in late 2018. Before that, he joined Elisabeth Murdoch’s Digital Content Outfit and was interim COO of Vertical Networks. He was also COO of Murdoch’s Shine Group and held senior positions at Metronome, 2waytraffic, and Celador International.
In his responsibilities at Fifth Season, Robinson worked to explore new opportunities following CJ’s investment. He also oversaw commercial affairs, human resources, finance, production, music and live teams, corporate development, operations, infrastructure, talent development, creative partnerships, and investment integration.
Fifth Season is known to be behind many popular shows such as Severance, See, Killing Eve, The Night Manager, Tokyo Vice, and Normal People. They also have upcoming projects such as Alma Har’el’s Lady in the Lake, starring Natalie Portman, for Apple and The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, Amazon’s first Australian original, starring Sigourney Weaver. Some of their films include The Lost Daughter, Cha Cha Real Smooth, and Tom Brady’s 80 For Brady.
Endeavor Content or Fifth Season was formed back in 2017 from the production, sales, and distribution assets within Endeavor, WME, and IMG.
