The Fate of the Furious is the eighth installment of the series that started back nearly 16 years ago. Itis also the first film in the series to not feature Paul Walker since his tragic death in 2013. Dom and his crew are back in action, but something is not quite right — Dom is now the enemy working for a high-tech terrorist (Charlize Theron). The new trailer reveals a barrage of action-packed material, making Furious 7 look like just a decent action film.
Making their return are the cast from the previous entries including Vin Diesel (Riddick), Dwayne Johnson (San Andreas), Jason Statham (Transporter), Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, and Kurt Russell. Newcomers include Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road), Scott Eastwood, and Helen Mirren. Directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton and Law Abiding Citizen) and written by franchise regular Chris Morgan, the new trailer looks awesome. The footage features explosive action from cars driving on their own, a submarine chasing down our crew, and a torpedo riding alongside a vehicle with poor Roman (Tyrese Gibson) freaking out in the process. The Fate of the Furious looks to bring back the over-the-top action, witty humor, and beautiful cars that we could only hope to take a ride in.
The Fate of Furious roars into theaters on April 14th. Check out the insane trailer below.
