‘Fast X’ Stays Speedy And Steady Earning $67M In Domestic Box Office

The tenth entry of the Fast and Furious franchise has managed to soar ahead of the competition with a total of $319 million at the international box office, which includes $67 million in domestic earnings. While it’s slightly behind other entries in the franchise, it’s still an impressive landmark for the Toretto family’s ventures.

Currently, it is the highest domestic-grossing film at $319 this weekend just ahead of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3, and it is the second highest-grossing international opening behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Additionally, it is the third highest-grossing opening for the franchise just behind The Fate of the Furious and Furious 7. Even when including previews in every franchise entry, Fast X manages to stay in a strong third place thanks to its impressive social scores overseas.

Domestically, it has collected from both Friday and Saturday earnings to earn about $67 million dollars, which might not be too impressive looking at other Fast openings, but it is still a great addtion to Universal’s summer tentpole. Alongside the upcoming Oppenheimer, Fast X’s box office grosses will be able to bolster Universal’s profits for the arriving season, which explains its intense marketing campaign. With its strong series of trailers paying tribute to past Fast and Furious entries, the franchise has once again managed to sweep audiences off of its feet.
