Farhan Akhtar, Lucy Boynton, Morfydd Clark, And Harry Lawtey Join Cast Of Sam Mendes’ ‘Beatles’ Films

The colossal four part biopic focusing on The Beatles has begun rounding out its cast. Farhan Akhtar, Lucy Boynton, Morfydd Clark, and Harry Lawtey have been attached to star in the films.

The Hollywood Reporter, in their original coverage of the casting, noted that Sam Mendes is behind the sizable task of bringing the films to life. Rather than using one film to tell the story of the band, Mendes’ The Beatles will be split four ways, with each part dedicated to one of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison.

Playing Ravi Shankar, Akhtar is a very popular figure in India. Going beyond just acting, Akhtar starred in, produced, and co-wrote Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Dil Dhadakne Do, while also starring in Karthik Calling Karthik and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

Cast as Jane Asher, Boynton already has a popular music biopic to her name. She starred in 2019’s Bohemian Rhapsody, which focused on the iconic band Queen and their lead singer, Freddie Mercury. Boynton had played Mary Austin, who was Mercury’s real life girlfriend, frequently sharing the screen with Mercury’s actor, Rami Malek.

Clark, cast as Cynthia Lennon, has starred in projects like Crawl and Saint Maud. Her most well known role to audiences may be that of Galadriel in Amazon’s Rings Of Power, based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s expansive works set in Middle Earth.

Finally, Lawtey has been cast as Stuart Sutcliffe. Lawtey starred in Industry for three seasons, and also appeared in films such as Joker: Folie à Deux, The Pale Blue Eye, and Benediction.

All four Beatles films are expected to hit theaters April 2028.
