In a recent interview to be aired on Sunday, actor Michael J. Fox talked about his health condition and how he is living with Parkinson’s disease. He shared that his condition is progressing while speaking to journalist Jane Pauley for CBS Mornings.

Pauley asked the actor and activist: “At some point, Parkinson’s going to call for you, isn’t it?” Fox replied, “Yeah, it’s banging on the door. I mean, I’m not going to lie it’s going to hurt.”

Fox said that his life with the disease gets more challenging every day. He stated:

“ Every day it gets tougher. But, that’s the way it is and who do I see about that?…You don’t die from Parkinson’s. You die with Parkinson’s. So I’ve been thinking about the mortality of it. I’m not gonna be 80. I’m not gonna be 80.”

The Marty McFly actor was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at a young age in 1991. He was then 29 and continued working as a performer until 2020. Now he is 61 years old. In 2000 he created a foundation dedicated to finding a cure for the disease. The foundation is the most significant non-profit funding Parkinson’s disease research, helping improve therapies for people with this condition.
