Eternals will have a sequel, according to Patton Oswalt who was recently a guest on the TODAY Show. He added that Harry Styles and Oscar-winning filmmaker Chloé Zhao are also returning to the the franchise. When asked about Starfox and Pip sequel rumors back in June, Oswalt stated that he would love to see the project happen.
I have not heard those rumors. That would be amazing if it [the sequel was about Starfox and Pip], because it just seems to me that every time Marvel has rolled the dice on these kind of B or C-level characters that everyone’s like, ‘Oh, who cares about them?’ That’s where they end up kind of really blossoming.
Eternals, which is now streaming on Disney+, premiered on November 5, 2021 and starred many A-list celebrities, including Harry Styles as Starfox, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Kit Harington as Black Knight, Ma Dong-seok as Gilgamesh, Gemma Chan as Sersi, and Richard Madden as Ikaris. Oswalt played Pip the Troll in the original film. This release became one of the worst-reviewed pictures in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s catalog. It is also the fourth-least earning film in the franchise with a global box office of $402 million. Nevertheless we will wait to see what the sequel has in store for its viewers.
