The fan reception for this upcoming superhero epic has been somewhat of a mixed bag. The two previous trailers released were greeted with both excitement and worry by many, but now with this final look at the fierce battle between the Dark Knight (Ben Affleck) and the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill), the tides may be turning. While the second trailer seemed more comedic in tone as well as greatly criticized for possible spoilers, this new one appears more like the first in that it’s action-packed, dark, and psychological as we get inside the minds of these two huge icons.
It also includes a lot more action involving Batman, giving us a good look at his fighting techniques and cool gadgets. While some of the shots were repeats from previous trailers, there’s still plenty of glimpses of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Lex Luther (Jesse Eisenberg), and Lois Lane (Amy Adams). It is notable that there are still no sightings of Aquaman (Jason Mamoa) yet, who is set to appear at some point in the film.
This epic has a lot to cover within its runtime of 151 minutes, which is a good bit longer than what most of the genre has turned out in the past. The film is due out next month, and hopefully its release will put to rest any reservations felt toward the footage up until now.
