Forbidden love is the theme of this steamy romantic remake of the 1981 Franco Zefferelli film Endless Love, a modern adaptation of the Scott Spencer novel from the director of The Greatest and Country Strong, Shana Feste.
Shana Feste wrote the updated adaptation with Gossip Girl scribe Joshua Safron, a film which is being promoted as a story of the ‘loss of innocence’. It stars Gabriella Wilde (Carrie, The Three Musketeers) as Jade Butterfield, a beautiful bookworm who keeps to herself until she meets David Axelrod, played by Alex Pettyfer (Magic Mike, Lee Daniel’s The Butler). David is a bad boy who steals hearts and cars for kicks, but his erotic charm makes him irresistible to the innocent Jade, and her parents efforts to stop the romance at all costs only fans the flames of her desire. Danny Okeniyi (Hunger Games, The Spectacular Now), Bruce Greenwood (Flight, The Place Beyond The Pines), and Robert Patrick (Gangster Squad) also star.
The film, produced by Universal Studios and Relativity Media, will be in theaters for Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2014.
