A new Star Wars adventure is coming to the big screen next summer with the release of The Mandalorian & Grogu. A new image has even been exclusively revealed by Empire Magazine.
The Mandalorian & Grogu follows the duo on a brand new adventure forged for the big screen. After helping to reclaim the planet of Mandalore, Mando and his small companion Grogu are enlisted by the New Republic to thwart the efforts of an Imperial warlord attempting to restore the Galactic Empire.
The film already has a full trailer released, showing fans plenty of new additions to the Star Wars lore that are in store. Older, obscure characters from past projects are coming back into the fold in Mandalorian & Grogu, and even sci-fi legend Sigourney Weaver will join the franchise for the first time in this installment.
Empire Magazine recently released an exclusive still from the film, showing Mando with Grogu in their full glory, standing in a cantina of some sort. Mando is shown to be holding a small bag, but it’s unclear what its contents could be.
Screenrant noted that cantinas aren’t a foreign concept to Star Wars. The first film featured the iconic Mos Eisley Cantina, described by Obi-Wan Kenobi as a “wretched hive of scum and villainy.” Since then, cantinas have become something of a recurring location for the franchise, with several different ones even being important in the main Mandalorian series.
The Mandalorian & Grogu hits theaters May 22nd, 2026.
