Emeraude Toubia And David Dastmalchian Star In New Trailer For ‘Rosario’

Rosario, a new horror film distributed by Variance Films, has released its official trailer online. The film is a feature directorial debut for Felipe Vargas and stars Emeraude Toubia, David Dastmalchian, Paul Ben-Victor, and José Zúñiga.

The trailer shows Rosario (Emeraude Toubia) receiving a call from her grandmother, only for her to find out that her grandmother had passed away. She is forced to check in on her, which propels her to search for the real cause of her abuela’s death. As she digs deeper and deeper, Rosario must reconcile with her family’s dark past and fend off an evil spirit before it collects her soul. The tagline placed in the trailer reads “You can reject your roots, but you can’t escape them.” This implies that Rosario may have been estranged from her family for some time, and now she must atone for her own sins and the sins of her ancestors before it is too late.

This seems to be the biggest role for Emeraude Toubia yet, with her previous leading credit being the holiday rom-com Holiday in Santa Fe. David Dastmalchian, on the other hand, has a plethora of supporting roles under his belt. Oppenheimer, Dune (2021), Ant-Man, The Suicide Squad, and Prisoners all feature Dastmalchian in a supporting role. Additionally, he starred as the lead in the horror film Late Night with the Devil last year.

Audiences will not have to wait long for this horror escapade, since the film is planned to hit theaters on May 2nd, 2025. Watch the full trailer below.
