A24 is in the process of making a biopic based off Elon Musk, famous tech-based entrepreneur who recently bought out Twitter as well. The film is slated to be directed by Darren Aronofsky.
Born in 1971, Musk made a name for himself in 2002 upon the founding of SpaceX. His father owned a part of an emerald mine in South Africa, which paved the way for Elon to find success in investing.
He’s invested in companies such as PayPal and Tesla, and sports a massive list of credits to his name. He’s the founder, chairman, CEO, and chief tech officer at SpaceX, CEO, product architect, and former chairman of Tesla, and owner, chairman, and CTO of X Corp, among many others.
As ComicBook.com points out, while Musk has run into controversy as of late, it’s very unlikely that the film will touch upon it. Some of the controversy does stem from his recent ownership and rebranding of Twitter (now X). The screenplay is based upon the biography of Musk by Walter Isaacson, with the book itself being authorized by Musk. Musk himself also made it apparent that he’s happy the project is being helmed by Aronofsky.
Aronofsky made a recent claim to fame with his acclaimed film The Whale. It was nominated for a multitude of Academy Awards, and also won Brendan Fraser his first ever Oscar for Best Actor. More of Aronofsky’s filmography includes Black Swan, Requiem For A Dream, Mother!, and Noah.
