Deadline has recently shared a trailer, which can be viewed here, for the Elizabeth Hurley, John Cleese, and Kelsey Grammer led comedy Father Christmas Is Back, ahead of its selling at the American Film Market or AFM.
The film revolves around four sisters returning to their Yorkshire home around Christmas and holiday season. A trying time for their family because twenty-seven years earlier their father(Grammer) abandoned the Christmas family. When suddenly their father returns, the family must uncover long-buried family tension and secrets for the sake of the holiday.
Including Hurley, Cleese, and Grammer the film stars Nathalie Cox, Kris Marshall, and Talulah Riley. It is directed by Philippe Martinez and Mick Davis, while the script is penned by David Conolly, Dylanne Corcoran, and Hannah Davis.
While the trailer leaves a lot to be desired, it is still refreshing to see comedy vets such as Cleese and Grammer, who are eighty-one and sixty-five years old, respectively, performing in a comedy. It will certainly be interesting to see a streaming platform picks up this film ahead of the 2020 holiday season.
Hurley, in addition to this, is working on a project for CBS, while Grammer and Cleese are in various stages of production for a plethora of projects.
