Eli Roth Teases Progress On Sequel To ‘Thanksgiving’

It has been three years since Eli Roth gave the world its first proper Turkey Day horror flick with Thanksgiving, and ever since then, fans have been eager to hear news about a sequel. Now, director Eli Roth has some news to share.

Roth stated that everyone is excited to get to work on a sequel; it is just a matter of getting everyone back together to do it. He said, “Everybody wants to do it. I’m gonna have it locked and loaded, and we’ll find a time when we’re all available. We’ll just go back for a few weeks and have fun.” This makes it sound like he wants to get the film made, but it is not in active development at this very moment.

Thanksgiving was, of course, directed by Eli Roth and starred Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Nell Verlaque, and Milo Manheim. The film followed a Thanksgiving-themed serial killer terrorizing the town of Plymouth, Massachusetts, covering up a larger conspiracy.

The main difficulty with filming the sequel is coordinating schedules for the cast members. Addison Rae is often on tour with her music career, and Milo Manheim was recently cast as Flynn Ryder in Disney’s live-action remake of Tangled. While it is clear that Roth is still interested in directing a sequel, it may not be his number one priority right now, especially with other projects in development such as Don’t Go in That House, Bitch!.

Regardless, the film will likely come about at some point, likely releasing on a Thanksgiving weekend sometime in the next few years.
