Edgar Wright’s Next Film, a Thriller Project, is Set in Central London

The awesome English director and screenwriter, Edgar Wright, known for his films Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Baby Driver, has shared some details about his upcoming film. From Empire‘s exclusive report, we’ve learned that his next film will be a psychological horror film with a female lead.

The film will be set in central London for the first time, specifically in Soho. His reported inspirations for this horror are Roman Polanski’s 1965 thriller Repulsion and Nicolas Roeg’s 1973 film Don’t Look Now. There wasn’t much information given, as Wright is keeping details obscure.

In Wright’s interview with the magazine, he also states that there is a possibility for a Baby Driver 2 with a first draft of the script in existence. The original film released to acclaim in 2017, starring a number of stars such as Ansel Elgort, Lily James, and Jamie Foxx. It was nominated for Best Film editing, sound mixing, and sound editing at the 90th Academy Awards.

Wright, who tends to be quite active on his social media accounts, tweeted yesterday about his gratitude for being included in Empire‘s upcoming issue.

Robert Thornson Jr.: My name is Robert and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of California Irvine. I am pursuing a B.A. in Film and Media studies with hopes to work in the creative industry. I have always had a passion for storytelling and since youth I've loved film. I grew up loving the movies of directors like Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, and many more along with writers such as Aaron Sorkin and Quentin Tarantino. One thing I have always done is write about movies and communicate to others information about the "film community" and the industry as well as about the films themselves. I write creatively on a daily basis.
