Eddie Murphy Stars In “Blue Falcon”: A High-Stakes Action-Comedy From Sony

Eddie Murphy has done it all—action, comedy, drama—you name it. He is a multi-generational star. No stranger to action comedies like Metro and The Golden Child, he now adds Blue Falcon to the list—an action-comedy with a mix of espionage.

Murphy stars as a retired superspy attending his estranged son’s destination wedding, only to come face-to-face with his longtime arch-nemesis. According to Movieweb.com, Sony Pictures secured the rights to the film, calling it a character-driven comedy featuring two leads.

The script was penned by Chad St. John, known for action films like Peppermint (starring Jennifer Garner) and London Has Fallen (starring Gerard Butler). He is also behind the upcoming film Motor City, featuring Reacher star Alan Ritchson.

Murphy won’t just be in front of the camera for Blue Falcon—he’s also stepping in as a producer. He’ll be joined by John Davis, known for films like Predator and Jungle Cruise, along with Cliff Roberts producing for Syndicate Entertainment and Charisse Hewitt-Webster representing Eddie Murphy Productions.

As Screenrant.com notes, “Due to his age, it is unclear how much action Murphy will be expected to do in the film, but the movie could take a similar approach to Ke Huy Quan’s action-comedy Love Hurts and might prove to be another hit for Murphy.”

According to Yahoo.com, “Further plot details remain under wraps at this time. No other casting has yet been announced beyond Murphy.” Fans can expect more updates soon as further details, including the full cast and director, are revealed in the coming months.
