Maze Runner actor Dylan O’Brien is jumping into another action-packed thriller as he will be joining Mark Wahlberg in the upcoming Antoine Fuqua directed project Infinite according to Deadline.
Joining the newly-acquired Sophie Cookson, Antoine Fuqua’s adaptation of D. Eric Maikranz’s novel The Reincarnationalist Papers follows the protagonist Evan Michaels, a man cursed by the haunting memories of two past lives. Michaels then tumbles upon an old secret society multiple centuries-old known as the Cognomina. From there, he seeks to join the society’s ranks, leading to a number of story points ensuing. Wahlberg will be replacing Chris Evans of Captain America fame for the lead role, which was announced earlier this summer. Evans reportedly departed due to scheduling conflicts.
O’Brien’s latest film, The Education of Fredrick Fitzell, was directed by Christopher MacBride and has entered post production with the expectation of being released sometime next year. O’Brien will star opposite Maika Monroe, Amanda Brugel, Emory Cohen, Keir Gilchrist, and Hannah Gross.
The Maze Runner actor recently provided the voice of Autobot Bumblebee in the eponymous Transformers spinoff directed by Travis Knight and reprised his role as Thomas for the third and final installment of the Maze Runner series, entitled The Death Cure. Infinite is scheduled to premiere in theaters August 7th, 2020.
