Dying ‘Star Wars’ Fan To See ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ Ahead Of Release

Following a hospice’s pleas in Waterlooville, Hampshire, a dying Star Wars fan will be granted an early screening of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker ahead of its Dec. 20 release, as confirmed by Disney CEO Bob Iger.

Sending out a tweet calling for response from Disney, the unidentified hospice patient will get to watch the new film with his son before its worldwide release. Stating time was “not on his side,” Rowans Hospice decided to reach out to grant the patient’s final wish: to see The Rise of Skywalker.

After positive response from Star Wars veteran actor Mark Hamill wishing the hospice “good luck,” Iger responded on Thanksgiving Day with confirmation, stating “May the force be with you and us all!”

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be available for mass viewing Dec. 20.
