Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart to Team for New Line’s ‘Central Intelligence’

There’s a new buddy action-comedy duo in town. According to a report from Variety, versatile action star Dwayne Johnson is set to team up with comedy sensation Kevin Hart in the upcoming Central Intelligence for New Line.

The film, based on an original script by Ike Barinholtz and Dave Stassen (the duo who wrote Key & Peele’s in-the-works Police Academy reboot) and reworked by Sean Anders and John Morris (the duo behind the upcoming Dumb and Dumber To and Horrible Bosses 2), centers on former high-school loser (Johnson) who survived years of bullying and ended up a CIA contract killer. Johnson uses a class reunion as an occasion to recruit Hart, a former campus sports star now turned accountant, to assist him in foiling a plot to sell classified military secrets.

Johnson, who will next be seen in Furious 7, has been busy of late, what with his reported involvement in the upcoming Shazam and the big-screen reboot of the iconic TV show Baywatch.  Hart is coming off a great year with his hits Ride Along and Think Like a Man Too.  He can be seen in The Wedding Ringer in January 2015.
