‘Dune: Part Three’ IMAX Presales Open Up 8 Months Ahead Of Its Release

The highly anticipated Dune: Part Three does not hit theaters until later this year on December 18, but as of this morning, tickets have already been sold at select IMAX locations. Warner Bros. Discovery revealed on social media earlier today that tickets for opening weekend IMAX screenings were available to purchase.

The announcement was accompanied by a short teaser for the film, which featured some new footage not seen in the official trailer. The locations in the U.S. that offered showtimes are as follows: Harkins Arizona Mills, Regal Hacienda Crossings, Regal Irvine Spectrum, Regal LA Live & IMAX, Universal Cinema AMC at CityWalk Hollywood, Regal Edwards Ontario Palace Stadium, AMC Metreon 16 in California,  AutoNation IMAX at the Museum of Discovery & Science, Regal Mall of Georgia, the IMAX Theatre at Indiana State Museum, AMC Lincoln Square 13, Cinemark Tinseltown Rochester & IMAX, Regal UA King of Prussia, Regal Opry Mills and Cinemark Dallas IMAX. The showings are all set to be in IMAX 70 MM from December 17-20. Outside of the country, Cineplex Cinemas Vaughan and Cineplex Cinemas Langley in Canada, BFI IMAX in the United Kingdom, and IMAX Melbourne in Australia all sold showings for the film.

Tickets reportedly already sold out across all theaters not long after they opened. Demand is clearly high for Denis Villeneuve’s conclusion to his Dune saga. The film is expected to closely follow the story of Dune: Messiah, the second installment in Frank Herbert’s classic sci-fi series. However, by naming it simply Dune: Part Three, Villeneuve leaves himself some leeway to make changes to the source material, or even pull elements for later novels such as Children of Dune. The film will feature the return of much of the cast from the first two films, including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Jason Momoa and Florence Pugh. Joining the cast for the third film are Robert Pattinson and Anya Taylor-Joy, although Joy did have a minor cameo in the 2nd film.

Dune: Part 3 will open in theaters on December 17, 2026.
