‘Downton Abbey’ Movie Teaser Trailer

The hit show Downton Abbey ran for six seasons and was critically acclaimed not only in the U.K. but also the U.S, in turn launching numerous careers in the states for those involved. The most prevalent of these being Dan Stevens (The Guest, Legion, Beauty and the Beast, Colossal), Hugh Bonneville (Paddington, Muppets Most Wanted, The Monuments Men) and most successfully Michelle Dockery (Good Behavior, Godless, Non-Stop).

Back in July, Focus Features announced the project and in September there was a sneak peak of the film through Instagram. But now a small teaser trailer was released showcasing the classic areas from the show and has the orchestral theme swell with the reveal of the castle against the rising sun. The end of the trailer lists all the characters that fans have come to love and care for, wondering how they have developed and grown over the years since the season finale. The end of the trailer also announced that the full trailer to be released soon.

The director Michael Engler has directed numerous TV shows including 30 Rock, The West Wing, Sex and the City and of course Downton Abbey. The writer for the film Julian Fellows, is the creator and writer for the original series that stared it all.

The movie will most likely be a single gathering of all that the fans love and presenting them with one last farewell package. Although there aren’t a lot of details within the trailer, it is still massively exciting to see what they will come up with. The film is set to release next year with no shortage of fans anticipating the release.

Keidan Chavez: I am an undergraduate attending Whittier College majoring in screen writing and journalism. I love to watch movies, play Red Dead Redemption 2 and read whenever I get the chance. I will watch anything related to Wright, Tarantino, The Coen Brothers or Nolan. I will also play anything made by Naughty Dog or Rockstar Games. I love being able to experience great stories, especially when I am able to share that experience with others. I also love learning about movies and sharing that knowledge to those that are just as passionate.
