Don’t speak now. The first teaser for the long awaited sequel to last summer’s A Quiet Place has hit the internet, reminding fans just how tense a 30 second clip can be.
The short teaser shows returning actors Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe back in the vast woodlands of their post-apocalyptic world. Complete with slow tracking shots, bare feet, and intense stares in lieu of speaking, the sequel is likely to deliver more of what made the first film a massive success.
The film will additionally see John Krasinki return as director and screenwriter, with his wife Blunt headlining the action as the matriarch of the Abbott family. Specific details regarding the A Quiet Place: Part II plot are still being kept under wraps, however, though Paramount has released an early synopsis for the sequel, stating that after the first film’s events, “the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.”
A Quiet Place: Part II hits theaters March 20, 2020. A full trailer is expected to release on New Year’s Day.
