With Rogue One: A Star War Story just days away, fans of the franchise are out in full force and are already looking to the next installment into the saga, Episode VIII.
It was reported a couple days ago that the title of Episode VIII may have been found while browsing the internet. According to ComicBookMovie.com, the AVS Forum came across an interesting trademark filing submitted to the European Union Intellectual Property Office, covering numerous items. Ranging from t-shirts to toys, the title that all of them have been filed under is Star Wars: Forces of Destiny.
You can’t deny the fit with Episode VII’s title, The Force Awakens, but you can’t believe everything you read on the internet. Knowing Lucasfilm and Disney, and how seriously they take their secrecy, you might be better off to just shrug this one off. Who knows, it could even possibly be a new ride at a Disney theme park.
Director Rian Johnson is at the helm for Star Wars Episode VIII and I’m sure he or one of the many stars of the film will be the one to break the news. The cast includes Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran. Episode VIII is set to be released on December 15th, 2017.
