Disney has published the synopsis for the second Doctor Strange movie, and it promises to be as fun and wild as Spider-Man: No Way Home with more interdimensional travels and a new villain nobody saw coming.
After Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness went under several reshoots in November, the Disney / Marvel production is finally coming out with a teaser trailer and a synopsis. The Sam Raimi-directed film will follow the Sorcerer Supreme into the infinite realities of the Multiverse. Those who have been watching What if…? on Disney+ and the third Tom Holland Spider-Man film will be somewhat familiar with this mind-bending concept.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will follow up right after the incidents of Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which the very essence of reality was slowly getting ripped apart due to some magical mishandling. The synopsis reads, “…with the help of mystical allies both old and new, (Doctor Strange) traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary”. His most trusted ally will most likely be Wong (Benedict Wong) and possibly Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams), America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez). The Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) will also appear in the film, but as a hero or bad guy, only time will tell. Benedict Cumberbatch will have his magical hands full when he has to face a villain that might just be himself from a different reality. Few things are scarier than an all-powerful lunatic Sorcerer Supreme from a distant Universe.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be the first of three Marvel movies releasing this year alongside Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The film is set to release on May 6th of this year.
