If you follow the MCU timeline closely and religiously and stay for the mid-after credit sequences Marvel films have to offer- it’s no surprise to you that the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange has been confirmed for an appearance in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok. This news comes after fans of the MCU were teased of this possibility after Chris Hemsworth’s Thor appeared before Doctor Strange in the Sanctum Sanctorum in a mid-credit sequence following the conclusion of Doctor Strange seeking help to locate his missing father, Odin.
Well, now there is possible confirmation courtesy of the official Disney fan club D23. The club recently posted an article talking about various Disney-related things to be excited for in 2017. In it, they, of course, mention Thor: Ragnarok, the God of Thunder’s next adventure that also includes Mark Ruffalo’s big green angry HULK- Plus one.
Here’s what D23 had to say:
If you need even more intergalactic, world-saving action, Thor: Ragnarok in November brings together Thor, the Hulk, and Doctor Strange to face off against intergalactic baddies both familiar and new.
This isn’t exactly from the head of Marvel Kevin Feige’s mouth, but it’s something we can definitely look forward to. The capacity of Benedict Cumberbatch’s role in Thor: Ragnarok is something to ponder and remains a mystery. Will Ragnarok serve the MCU just as the Captain America franchise has done? By this, I mean will Thor’s next film help take on some of the superhero load that the MCU is building? This cinematic universe is continuing to grow so why not spread the wealth.
