This summer vacation feels like it’s lasted more than 104 days. However, if you don’t know what you’re going to do on August 28, there’s a brand new Phineas and Ferb movie premiering exclusively to Disney+. Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against The Universe is the second post-tv series film about the two inventive step brothers, their put-upon older sister, and their pet platypus (who is a secret agent). Candace Against The Universe takes place before the end of the series. Candice, Phineas and Ferb’s sister, has been abducted by aliens, and it’s up to the two ingenious siblings to get her back.
Candice Against The Universe sees the return of most of the original cast: Vincent Martella as the outgoing Phineas, Ashley Tisdale as Candace, Dan Povenmire as the conniving Dr. Doofenshmirtz, and many others, as well as some newcomers, including Ali Wong, Wayne Brady, and Thomas Middleditch.
If you were hoping for an appearance by Weird Al Yankovic as Milo Murphy, the main character of the P&F spinoff Milo Murphy’s Law, you’re going to be disappointed. Yankovic was originally set to do a cameo as Murphy, but it was cut from the final product.
In the meantime, members of the cast and crew, including P&F creators Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, and director Bob Bowen will be participating in a San Diego Comic-Con @ Home panel to discuss the movie on Saturday, July 25 at 12 PM (Pacific Time).
