Disney Is Next Company To Be Approached By The Federal Communications Commission

The Federal Communications Commission has been continuing to crack down on companies enforcing DEI, or diversity, equity, and inclusion. Among the string of other companies they’ve cracked down on, Disney themselves are reportedly next in line.

Reportedly, the FCC is preparing to extensively look into Disney’s practices when it comes to applying DEI. According to the chairman of the FCC, Brendan Carr, they will specifically look to see if any of Disney’s DEI practices are clashing with the standard that they’re currently seeking to establish.

According to Punchbowl News, Carr himself confirmed that a letter addressed to Disney about DEI is almost complete and is soon to be in their hands.

Disney has already implemented some of the core traits of DEI into many of their projects, but to varying success. Some of their choices have led to significant backlash in spite of their intentions, even affecting the revenue of some of their films.

Collider, in their reporting of the news, stated that Disney isn’t the first in line to be affected by the FCC. Other companies, especially within the entertainment business, have been affected by the FCC, such as Warner Bros. Discovery, Amazon, and Paramount, among others. Specifically, Collider stated that they’ve already changed up hiring practices to completely avoid DEI, and are starting to steer clear of it.
