

It has been announced that Disney has officially given the green light to The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen, a revival of the popular DCOM franchise, with Raven-Symoné and Adrienne Bailon set to return. The film is set for release on Disney Channel and Disney+.
The film is being executive produced by Debra Martin Chase, who acted as executive producer on all the previous Cheetah Girls movies. Along with Raven-Symoné and Adrienne Bailon, Lynn Whitfield and Lori Alter are also set to reprise their roles from previous Cheetah Girls movies. In addition, Sabrina Bryan will make a special appearance as Dorinda, while Sophia Bush will play a supporting role as Jennifré.
The film’s new cast consists of Leah Sava’ Jeffries, Carmen Sanchez, Kaileen Chang, and Sophie Lennon. Newcomer Kamogelo Ramashala, a South African actress discovered during an open casting call by Disney, is also starring. Along with Debra Martin Chase, Raven-Symoné is also executive producing. The film will be directed by Bille Woodruff, who is also co-producing with Adrienne Bailon. The film is written by Kara Holden, Sarah Watson, and Deborah Swisher.
The film’s plot follows the two Cheetah Girls, Galleria (Raven-Symoné) and Chanel (Adrienne Bailon), as they, along with Galleria’s daughter, Faith (Leah Sava Jeffries), and her friends, volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary in Africa. In the process, Faith’s relationship with her friends grows, and they will form the New Cheetah Girls.
Production on the film is set to begin in South Africa later this month. A release date isn’t currently known.
