Deleted Scene From ‘Batman v. Superman’ Hits the Web

Just four days fresh from being released, and already Warner Bros. is gracing the internet with a deleted scene from their critically-panned mega-hit Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. They say that this scene is part of the R-rated directors cut available on the Blu-Ray, which is being scheduled for a July release.

The scene is a bit perplexing, but from what can be gathered, Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) is at the heart of Kryptonian ship from the Man of Steel, which he was given access to by the FBI. We see him towards the end of the clip, soaking in some rather gross and vaguely gory alien goop looking simultaneously frightened and in awe. The alien creature seen prior to being dissolved away has no official character ties yet, but Deadline and many others speculate that the creature is in fact Darkside, a Superman villain hellbent on conquering the universe, or his Luinenent Steppenwolf. This creature had no effect on the climax or outcome of the film, but his establishment would make sense as Warner Bros. intends to make a series of 10 scheduled DC films, most notably being a Justice League film (a la The Avengers). Whether or not this is Darkside, you can bet that this creature will make it’s way into either the Wonder Woman or future DC film in the coming years.

Also expect some more deleted scenes, as director Zach Snyder was forced to cut around 30 minutes of his original vision in order to hit a reasonable run time and make that PG-13 rating. Perhaps this scene will make a lot more sense in the context of everything else that was cut.
