After impressing at last month’s Comic Con with a no-holds bar epic trailer that delivered one of the highlights of the event, Deadpool is at it again with a new teaser. It’s essentially a trailer for the real trailer, to be released tomorrow ahead of Fantastic 4.
Ryan Reynolds returns as his ever brash alter ego who is hell bent on tearing down the superhero genre good boy image. Instead of an American hero, we get a foul-mouth, ill-tempered jokester that has no qualms about killing bad guys.
Promising to deliver a new king of hero, Deadpool is taking the superhero genre to a place its never been before. The trailer even pokes fun at 20th Century Fox for their poorly executed adaptation of the character of Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Morena Baccarin (Spy), Gina Carano (Haywire) and T.J. Miller (Cloverfield) co-star. Tim Miller (Oscar nominated director of the 2004 animated short Gopher Broke) makes his feature directorial debut here; the Zombieland writing team of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are credited with writing the screenplay adaptation.
The full teaser can be seen below, but beware of your sphincters. DISCLAIMER: The trailer contains strong language.
Deadpool hits theatres February 12, 2016.
