Tim Miller, the writer and director of the short film Rockfish, recently spoke with Erin Darling of Clevver Movies about his involvement with the Deadpool movie – the very same one we reported on last week. According to Miller, who’s set to direct Marvel comic book adaptation, he’s waiting for the studio green light, as the project (including star Ryan Reynolds) is ready to go.From his interview, Miller states, “We will never give up! Deadpool is still alive and we’re just waiting for the studio to embrace what an amazingly f**king awesome film this would be.”
Plenty of other filmmakers have hyped their projects as “amazingly f**king awesome” – though perhaps not in those exact words, but if nothing else, the film should deliver the humor and violence – Deadpool the character is known for both – as the film’s completed script was penned by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the duo that gave us Zombieland.
Though Miller does not have many credits to his name, anyone who watches Rockfish will see – from the mostly voiceless short – that the man does know something about visual storytelling.
