Dave Bautista, along with Steven Yeun, Zoë Kravitz, Léa Seydoux, Riley Keough, and Channing Tatum, has joined Cate Blanchett in a new Sci-Fi comedy by directorial duo David and Nathan Zellner.
The film, titled Alpha Gang, follows a group of aliens who disguise as a 1950s-style biker gang upon invading Earth. Their plans are soon thrown off course when they encounter a human condition nobody could have prepared them for: feelings. Blanchett’s character, Alpha One, will serve as the group’s leader.
Alpha Gang is set to be one of the highest-profile projects to be shopped to international distributors at next week’s American Film Market (AFM) held in Las Vegas. CAA Media Finance will oversee the North American distribution rights.
The Zellner Brothers are fresh off the release of their 2024-documentarian style comedy film Sasquatch Sunset, which starred Jesse Eisenberg and Riley Keough as the titular Sasquatches who navigated the survival of their small family in everyday life. Sasquatch Sunset‘s Director of Photography, Mike Giolaukis, will also return to shoot Alpha Gang. Giolaukis’ other prior credits include Cinematography on films like Jordan Peele’s Us and M. Night Shyamalan’s Old. Cate Blanchett is also attached to produce alongside Coco Francini under their Dirty Films title.
Alpha Gang is expected to enter production in 2025.
