Daughter Of M. Night Shyamalan’s Releases First Look At Her First Horror Film

A trailer for the upcoming Warner Brothers horror film The Watchers released Tuesday, which brought not only a creepy vibe, but also the fear of the unknown into the mix.

What isn’t unknown is who wrote and directed the film, which is none other than Ishana Shyamalan, daughter of renowned horror and thriller writer director, M. Night Shyamalan, according to Variety.

From the official film description, the movie will follow an artist who gets stranded in a forest in western Ireland. After finding shelter she gets trapped inside a room alongside three other strangers who are being watched by mysterious creatures.

The trailer itself also shows some suspense and a possible escape, as the main character, played by Dakota Fanning (The Equalizer 3), is outside of the room and watches a man get captured and pulled into a hole by an unknown entity.

The film is set to be released internationally June 5 and also has M. Night Shyamalan acting as a producer on his daughter’s film. This will be the first time Inshana has directed and written a film set for the big screen.

However, that doesn’t mean that she lacks experience in the entertainment industry. Not only has she worked on her fathers productions, such as his most recent film Old as an assistant director, as well as written for the tv show Servant, according to her IMDb page.

This newest release is just a teaser to what is to come in the film  giving audiences a look into what is to come with the release.

While it is currently unknown if this film will have the classic Shyamalan twist, it is exciting to see a new generation of directors get a chance at creating projects they love.
