Danny Glover, who starred in Lethal Weapon and The Old Man & the Gun is going to star in the sequel to surprising hit reboot Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Variety first reported the news. The film grossed nearly $1 billion worldwide on the budget of only $90 million. It also starred Hollywood heavyweights such as Dwayne Johnson (Furious 7), Jack Black (Nacho Libre), Kevin Hart (The Secret Life Of Pets), and Karen Gillan (Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2).
With all these successes in mind it’s no doubt that Sony would green light a sequel with even more movie stars. The sequel stars the original cast and adds Danny DeVito (It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia), Danny Glover and the up and coming actress Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians).
The director Jake Kasdan has helmed acclaimed TV shows such as Freaks and Geeks, New Girl and the former Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. The writers of the film Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg have collaborated over multiple projects together including Venom, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Zoo.
The plot of the movie has been kept under wraps and is slated to release later this year on December 13.
