When it comes to Marvel casting roles, it is no surprise that fans everywhere become invested in who is going to become their next favorite superhero. In this case, it is of the likes of who will become the next Wolverine. Hugh Jackman, who played the character in the original X-Men films has confirmed that he does not plan on revising the role, leaving fans hanging onto who will continue his legacy.
There has been no shortage of rumors surrounding the role, including Harry Potter veteran, Daniel Radcliffe. The actor makes it high on the list for many fans, and while he appreciates the support, he’s made it clear that he doesn’t think Marvel will choose him after Jackman, although he does hope they prove him wrong. When speaking with Comicbook.com at The Lost City premiere, he said that he appreciates that fans want a “short guy” to play Wolverine, keeping the comics canon. Radcliffe himself has also said that due to his love for the X-Men films, it’s less likely he’d want to appear in the film’s follow-up, even when his name was first being floated around back in 2019.
As excited as fans are for a new iteration of Wolverine to hit the big screen, Deadpool 3 was just announced with The Adam Project and Free Guy, working negotiations with Shawn Levy to direct. Levy wants to bring Jackman and Ryan Reynolds together on screen for the film. While there’s no confirmation on the role yet, Marvel is sure to keep fans on their toes until it’s announced.
