Danai Gurira in Early Talks for New ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Godzilla Vs. Kong’

In-demand actress Danai Gurira of The Walking Dead fame, who also plays the African warrior princess Okoye in box office titans Black Panther and Avengers:Infinity War, is in early talks to join the new Star Trek movie and Godzilla Vs. Kong. Deadline was the first to report the news.

Paramount’s fourth Star Trek movie, of the reboot initiated by Bad Robot, already has a female director attached – S.J. Clarkson. The British director helmed the pilots of Netflix’s Jessica Jones and The Defenders, as well as Netflix’s Collateral starring Carey Mulligan.

Godzilla Vs. Kong from Legendary/Warner Bros. will be directed by Adam Wingard. The cast already includes Millie Bobby Brown, Julian Dennison and Kyle Chandler.
